The current climate of golf in the private sector
|
In the public sector there are so many great restaurants and an increase in great courses open to the public that there is no great necessity or inclination for golfers to join private clubs. Theme nights and other social club events are no longer a draw or of interest to potential new members.
The private courses that are most successful have no restaurant or at least run a very lien restaurant and bar business. These clubs rely on professional catering companies to run weddings and other high-end club functions. The private clubs that remain static relying on dues, increased minimums and member support will fail.
